Blood Diamond Writing
Blood Diamond is about diamonds. In the movie there is people that want the diamond to sell it illegally. Others want to just get rich. Those who really want it make people find them in which they treat them like slaves. There is one character (soloman )that finds a diamond and he hides it. Thats were the next charater comes in (danny), he wants the diamond like everyone else and once he has it he was planning to run away with it. Then lastly there is the girl that falls for danny. Matty is a news reporter trying to get a story about the diamonds.
The wars over diamonds effected the children by making them traumatized, making them child soldiers, and they were getting beat. First the bad people that lived in Sierra Leone took the children from there families. They would destroy their home. The main character’s son was taken away from them. The rest of the family was taken to a camp. After they would teach the children how to shoot and trick them to kill people. Then they would drug them and make them their own soldiers. In which they would become traumatized. Like in the end of the movie the son almost wanted to kill is own father. It really has a bad effect on them and I think its wrong to treat them like that over just killing people or the diamonds.
The wars over the diamonds affected the adults because they were treated like slaves and they were forced to fight for their own people. Like I said before they were treated as slaves. They were first taken from their own homes. Sometimes they would decide to kill them or make them help find slaves. If you seemed suspicious they would think you found a diamond and just kill you right there. Soloman was taken to that and he found the diamond. He then said he was going to the bathroom and hid it in the dirt but one of the men found him but he was lucky because at that moment the U.S soldiers were atacking that place.
The wars over the diamonds affected the country because of poverty and corruption. Many people were loosing their homes because they would destroy their homes because of the diamonds. I think the country can make some improvements if they are at war becuase maybe if they win they would be at peace. But in a way no because there is always other people who will keep doing it.
This movie taught me to think abou were the diamonds come from. How something so beautiful can cause a tragedy over money. Its weird because this is the first time hearing about it. And how people all over the world dont know about it. And even if they knew, women are so wanting of good things like a diamond. And a guy would just want to please his girl. It is really sad how all the things happen over a diamond that is not even worth it because whats to having a diamond its just another accessory you wear and then you throw. The movie was good to be shown because people might realize or think about were you buy them.
